Apartment Review for Lowden Terrace Apartments - Fort Worth, TX

This is perhaps the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in.There is no on site management.There is no on site maintenance.Management has changed 3 times in the relatively short time I have lived here.With every new manager a list of promises was made,to do badly needed repairs,improve tenant safety and security,add video surveillance,enclose parking area,secure the mailboxes,etc...NONE of this has been done,or if it has been done it was done so in a completely ineffective manner.The chiller system air conditioner breaks down on an average of once a month,there are a myriad of plumbing problems,the trash dumpster is always overflowing,and the courtyard is usually cluttered with trash,debris and broken furniture left over from the many evictions that regularly occur,almost monthly.The current management obviously has a very casual screening policy regarding who passes the credit/background check before signing a lease.I used to think that it was the area that was bad and generating some of the crime.I have now realized that it is this very complex and it s more unsavory residents that are the source of the problem.The police visit almost every weekend for domestic violence calls.Drug use and dealing is blatantly obvious.An elderly lady resident was mugged just outside the courtyard gate last year,probably by a disgruntled ex-resident.From what I now understand the complex has had several Housing Authority and City Code inspection failures within the past month alone.The owners live out of state and rarely visit,and when they do a flurry of activity occurs prior to the visit to clean up the place so as to keep the owner from seeing how things are really being handled,or NOT handled.Shortly after the owner is safely away things return to their usual state of mis-management and disarray.I doubt the owner cares,anyway.The owners either do not have,or just will not spend,the money needed to bring this property up to an acceptable living standard.It is a shame.I plan to vacate this property as soon as my lease is up.The reader of this review should be advised that it s writer is certainly not the only resident who feels this way.This review was not written out of spite,instead it was written as a fair warning to future potential residents,and to make a permanent record of this complex PAST and CURRENT conditions.Every word in this review is true and is nothing that has not been brought up to management,at least once,by this writer.Take heed.
